If you’re a decorator or design enthusiast, chances are you have been eagerly awaiting this season when paint and color companies announce their predictions for the top colors of the new year. Maybe you like to embrace the trends by painting a room of your home in your favorite new hue. Or maybe you just enjoy getting a sneak peak at the colors you are sure to see cropping up in retailers over the year to come. Either way this is an exciting time of year that we want to celebrate with a roundup of some of our favorite colors for 2017.

Pantone

This year Pantone, the color authority for the fashion, home, and graphic design industry, named "Greenery" its pick for 2017’s prime color. They created a great selection of mood boards that use this cheery shade of green in combination with everything from moody blues to vibrant pinks and oranges.

Benjamin Moore

Making a sharp turn from their celebration of white in 2016, Benjamin Moore named “Shadow”, a deep, smoky purple, its color pick for 2017. Much like Pantone, the painting company sought inspiration in nature. Looking to create a sense of drama in a room of your home? Shadow creates the perfect backdrop for mystery and ambience.

Sherwin Williams

Continuing with the gray trend that has been going strong for several years, “Poised Taupe” is Sherwin William’s pick for the new year. They think this color is the perfect neutral, combining the best of gray and beige for an ideal balance of cool and warm tones.
