Kitchen Cabinet Painting Process

Cabinet Close Up

Whether your cabinets are currently painted or have a stain and finish on them, here is the typical process to paint them:

  • Clean the existing cabinet doors, drawers and frames
  • Remove the doors and drawers (including all hardware)
  • Apply an undercoat (aka: primer)
  • Sand, vacuum and wipe down all surfaces after primer was applied
  • Apply the final 2 to 3 coats to all surfaces with a durable cabinet finish
  • Reinstall all hardware, doors and drawers
  • Final clean up
