Exterior House Painting in NJ - Did You Miss Your Chance?

We’re not sure how it’s been for you, but this summer has been a blur for the Clean Lines Painting team! We’ve been busy serving our New Jersey house painting clients, and we’re thankful for the opportunities and trust they offer.

Now, there’s no doubt about it: fall is right around the corner!

Did you finish your exterior painting projects, or are there still some to-do’s lingering on your list?

Ideal Conditions for Exterior Painting

Before we talk about painting outdoors in the fall, let’s talk ideal exterior painting conditions in general. It all comes down to two key factors:

  • Temperature
  • Moisture

Sure, for the experienced painter there are other variables at play, of course, but speaking in broad-terms, these two environmental conditions can make or break your paint job. In a perfect world, you want even, consistent, warmer temperatures, and a clean, dry surface.

Interestingly enough, with these conditions in mind, summertime is actually not an ideal season for exterior work. Especially along coastal NJ, the intense summer sun can cause the paint to dry too quickly, running the risk of compromising adhesion. We can help navigate this risk, ensuring quality finishes for our clients, but a blistering summer day doesn’t make it easy.

Fall: The Unsung Hero of Exterior Painting Seasons

For all the reasons listed above, fall is actually an ideal season for buttoning up your exterior house painting projects. The temps are often consistent and warm, the sun is more gentle, and today’s paint formulas can withstand cooler nighttime air without any issues.

So, what are you waiting for? If you catch a professional painter with availability on their schedule, this is a golden opportunity to protect your home before winter’s harsher weather arrives.
