Church Painting in New Jersey
There is something special about being asked to paint a church or other house of worship. When somebody invites you into a space they consider sacred, it indicates a level of trust that we don't take for granted! We recently painted this church in New Jersey, and it was a very rewarding experience.
First Steps
As every sincerely religious person understands, it doesn't matter how much you spruce up the surface if the underlying problems aren't dealt with. Whatever that may look like in your spiritual life, it has a very specific meaning in our line of work!
Before we could begin painting, we needed to perform extensive repair on the ceiling and wall surfaces. On the ceiling, we needed to complete the repairs in a way that would fit into the decorative pattern. On the walls, we repaired cracks and damage to create a smooth, uniform surface.
Once the repairs were done on the underlying surfaces, we carefully primed the restored areas in order to make them ready for painting.
Transformation
After the initial preparation work, we carefully protected all non-painted surfaces, and then jumped into the fun part! We repainted the whole interior of the church, including the ceilings, walls, trim, and many of the pews.
Would it be an exaggeration to call this project a transfiguration? A miraculous change? Well, probably! But the effect was amazing, and we sincerely hope the people of this church enjoy this renewal of their sanctuary.

What Does It Take to Paint a Church?
When you paint a church or house of worship, in New Jersey or elsewhere, it requires some special considerations. First of all, as we mentioned above, a painting contractor needs to recognize the deep significance that this building holds in the hearts of the members. That's why we take special care to maintain a respectful, appropriate, non-disruptive work environment during the project.
In some cases, painting a church may require fewer scheduling concessions than a typical commercial paint job. After all, houses of worship are often busiest on evenings and weekends, when painters are typically not working anyways. However, every congregation is different, and we are always careful to communicate proactively with our customers to make sure we have minimal impact on their use of the sanctuary.
Churches typically have high ceilings in their facilities, which require scaffolding and/or lifting equipment during the painting process. We have all of the necessary equipment for this kind of work, and we are also careful to make sure our painters are trained in proper procedures and safety precautions. Some churches may have a cemetery on their grounds, but we don't want to make use of it!
