Popular Interior Painting Projects for New Jersey Homeowners

Winter is right around the corner...

You can feel the chill in the air, and the snow showers are already headed to the area. In New Jersey, the outdoor projects have come to a screeching halt, but that doesn’t mean that you need to stop all of your home renovations! Winter is the perfect season to kick some of the big interior needs.

High traffic areas?

High traffic spaces in the home are usually the first to need renovating. During the winter months, turn your attention inward, to the places that need the most TLC. The walls and trim in foyers, hallways, kitchens and family rooms take a beating from the heavy traffic. Take a minute to walk around your high traffic areas, and see if any of these items need a new coat of paint?

  • Walls
  • Ceilings
  • Doors
  • Windows
  • Baseboard, crown, and other trim moulding

You’ll be amazed by how a new coat of paint can give the whole room a fresh outlook.

Most kitchens are the heartbeat of the house, and deserve special care when renovating. Of all of the rooms in the house, the kitchen is used constantly and needs special attention to renovations.

A great start to repainting your kitchen is to repaint your kitchen cabinets!

Kitchen cabinets take a beating, but a professional cabinet painter will have them looking like new in no time. Repainting your cabinets is not a one step process. Your professional cabinet painter will take several steps to repaint your cabinets.

  • Clean the existing cabinet doors, drawers and frames
  • Remove the doors and drawers (including all hardware)
  • Apply an undercoat (aka: primer)
  • Sand, vacuum and wipe down all surfaces after primer was applied
  • Apply the final 2 to 3 coats to all surfaces with a durable cabinet finish
  • Reinstall all hardware, doors and drawers
  • Final clean up

By the time they are done with the cabinet painting, you won’t even recognize the kitchen! Cabinet painting is more affordable than installing new cabinets, and is a great interior project to tackle this winter!
